Happy Birthday Grandma!

Welp, here it is! My *very* first blog post. EVER. I have been wanting to create a blog for so, so long. My original goal was to start the new year off with my brand new blog...didn't work out so well. I flew with all three of my kids (all under 3) by myself on New Year's Eve from Boston to Chicago; wasn't as bad as you'd think actually! BUT, it did leave me kind of tired the next day so I gave up on my blog for a couple days, but never fail!! Here I am getting in just before my new deadline! (more on that later....)

I decided to start a blog as a precursor to an internet shop I hope to open on artfire.com Here, I will be posting tutorials for some of the stuff that I will later sell in my shop-- crochet and sewing (you can also email me to buy something you see that I have made or would like me to make in another color/scheme). I will also post about other topics such as food (I keep my hubby chubby some how!), life, other crafty projects, and my parenting experiences, failures and successes. I hope that you will find the comments section a great place to have open discussion and encourage one another.

With all that being said, way back when I was a little girl, I asked my grandmother (father's mother) to teach me how to crochet. I didn't get it at that time and I never did before she died when I was in the fourth grade. However, I did not give up. I persevered and tried and tried AND TRIED until one day I (mostly) got it! I was ecstatic. Crochet was the first craft that I learned, and because of the dedication and determination that I learned along the way, I am where I am today. I am who I am today. I was later encouraged to take up sewing by my Mimi (mother's mother). Today would have been my grandmother's 79th birthday (hence new deadline) and so it is my greatest pleasure, that I dedicate this blog, and future business to my Grandmother, Patricia S Klein, and my Mimi, Kathleen M Drouillard.

I hope to have a tutorial for a beautiful baby girl hat up in the next couple of days. It will be perfect for Valentine's Day, trust me!!
